  • Blarney

went to cork and blarney this weekend and ‘twas delightful! alas, my camera was out of battery so i have no pictures of my own, but it was absolutely fantastic. we climbed all the way to the top of blarney castle and kissed the blarney stone. it was hilarious because you have to lay down and lean back to kiss it, so you’re staring down at the ground a hundred feet below. i was giggling for about ten minutes afterward and now have the gift of gab, according to legend.

  • Hurling

went to the college bar to watch the All-Ireland Hurling Final today. Kilkenny v. Galway. alas, the match ended in a draw, so there will be a replay at a later date. i am already in love with this sport. it reminds me of hockey, though there is less contact allowed in hurling. also, the players only wear a helmet and no other protective gear. goalie included. a true man’s sport. go galway!!!!!!!
